Preparation of manual dishwashing liquid formulation
The formulation is prepared for the amount of 500 grams, and the ingredients are combined in the following order in this formulation:
Water, sodium hydroxide, C11-C13 linear alkylbenzene sulfonic acid, then pH was adjusted to 9-10 by 10% citric acid solution and/or sodium.
10% hydroxide solution, then sodium lauryl ether sulfate C12-C14 2EO and/or cocamidopropylamine oxide and/or coconut diethanolamide and/or cocamidopropyl betaine were added.
pH measurement
Finally, pH was adjusted to 7-8 by adding 10% citric acid solution and/or 10% sodium hydroxide solution if needed. The pH values of the formulation were measured for a 0.1% solution at a temperature of 25 ± 2.0 °C using a Jenway model 3510.
Viscosity measurement
The apparent viscosity of the formulas was measured using a Brookfield DV-E LVDV-E viscometer with spindle number 6 in a 250 ml container at a temperature of 20±1.0°C.
Cloud temperature measurement (cloud point)
To measure cloud temperature, fifty milliliters of formulas were poured into test tubes and a thermometer was placed in the tube of each formula, and then the test tubes were immersed in chillers at minus 3 degrees Celsius. The temperature reading was recorded when the solution in the test tube started to turn cloudy.
Measuring the content of surfactants
Hydrolyzable and non-hydrolyzable anionic active substances were determined under acidic conditions.
Titration of a small amount of the sample solution with benzthonium chloride solution was performed according to the two phase direct titration method specified in ISO 2271:1989. Hydrolysis.
with reflux (distillation) in acidic conditions, the second amount of the sample solution was performed. The calculation of hydrolyzable and non-hydrolyzable active anionic contents of the items was recorded according to the ISO.
2870:2009 standard. Non ionic surfactants target market of dishwashing liquid were measured after combining a small amount of alcoholic extract from the sample solution with anionic and cationic resin, and then dried and weighed.
The results obtained from the analysis were prepared in batches, then its forming power and washing performance were recorded in comparison with market samples to confirm their compositions.
Floor strength measurement
Two hundred milliliters of 1% formulation solution at 30°C was poured freely from the separating funnel into a graduated cylinder.
The separating funnel was placed in such a way that its outlet pipe was towards the center of the graduated cylinder and the distance from its bottom edge to the graduated cylinder was five centimeters.
The initial volume of foam produced was recorded and after 30 minutes the volume of foam was recorded again.
